The scale at the doctors office couldnt weigh me
I'm scared, I'm stressed, I'm depressed, And i could really use some support.

I can answer the smoking question for you...... Chantix! My son (age 28) has been smoke free for a year and he feels great. He said it made him not like the taste or texture of the cigs... and he was a long time smoker and in the army.
Sounds like if you're barely eating and you're gaining 10 lbs per month, there must be some medical reason behind it. You're so young to have so much going on! Are your parents and/or family supportive of your efforts?
I wish you the best!
I am so sorry that you have been dealt this hand but trust me there is light at the end of the tunnel. I fought for almost 4 years to get my surgery but it was well worth it. My doctors scale also will not weigh me so I know the frustration. I weigh 455 pounds as of my last doctors visit and had to drive to my surgeons office once a week (25 miles each way) just to get weighed, My body was un willing to give up the weight as well. I tried to lose the lousy 10 pounds the surgeon wanted me to lose and finally they put me on a all protein diet and even then that took almost a month to lose it.
As far as the smoking thing, I was too prescribed the Chantix but my insurance would not cover it. I had the doctor prescribe Wellbutrin which has a side affect to the body making it not be able to stand the tast of nicotine. I also found a product called Nic-Out and it worked like a charm. It is a filter that you place on the cigarette and removes over 90 percent of the tar and nicotine but does'nt change the taste of the cigarette. And when you smoke, you can see the Tar and Nicotine in the filter and it is flat gross. I smoked for 20 plus years and it is history now.
I know its hard but just keep the faith, all will work out.
Have a great day...............Rick

Since you think you might have trouble losing, you owe it to yourself to at least check out the duodenal switch WLS. You are more apt to lose more and keep it off easier than with the RnY. I would like to invite you to come to the DS board and read some posts. You will notice a difference. After you have checked it out and still want the RnY, go for it! You will know in your mind/heart that you checked everything out and go for what is best for you. I pray that everyithing works out for you.

Tatem I know you have had a lot to deal with and we try and support you, but you have to find the power within you to pull yourself up by the boot straps so to speak and really be proactive about your health issues especially if they think you have a RARE brain tumor.
I do not know what tell you about smoking. I smoked for 25 years and when the doctor said smoking or surgery....it was not a tough decision.
Stop having a pity party girl and take charge of your life and take on the world!!!
I hope your issues get resolved so you can have wls!
“When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others.” –Peace Pilgrim (1908-1981).
So as others have said, get off the pity partry, pull yourself out of the gutter, and think positive. You HAVE to change that thinking to get to be where you love yourself, not go on and on and complain about life. YOU put food in your mouth, so control is the main key. I am wishing you alot of luck, but from me you will not get pity, just reality!
Good luck, Diane
